Just an update on how great this new Hammer line is IMO. Lately I've been having wrist/forearm problems(very bad pains off and on, almost tendonitis like). I've been aliveating it with magnetic braces and bowling with a Master wrister to keep my wrist warm and insulated and to keep the blood flowing. It has changed my game significantly in the past few weeks. I am now tracking higher(which is a good thing, PAP is at 4 5/8ths over and 1/8 down as opposed to the previous 4" over, 3/8ths down) and I'm seeing alot more reaction out of my equipment.
I just want to reiterate how awesome the DEAL can be when used on its proper condition with a surface that caters to your style. This is a first ball out of the bag for me and preped at 1500 wetsand it blends wet/dry very evenly without sacrificing length or power on the backend. Lately the house patterns I've been seeing are upwars near 90 units from 12 to 12 and falling off with outside 4 being 5 units or less which is rediculous wet dry(adult bumper bowling). Yet the DEAL enables me to play patterns like this with ease and stay lined up longer in the pocket than other balls I have tried on patterns like these(and trust me, I've been through alot this season, 20+). Just the other day(1/1/05) what started out as a practice session trying to see if I could roll a ball with my wrist hurting as bad as it was I fired off a 300 with the DEAL. This is just one ball I am very confident will strike when I label the shot and it hits the pocket. With up near 50 games on it already I have noticed no signs of losing strength and very rarely do I flush the hole and leave a corner pin.
The Switchblade is quickly becoming one of my favorites as well. It's very reminiscent of the V2 Clean. Nice clean movement through the heads and midlanes with a strong but controlled snap/arc on the backend. This highly polished surface gives all the length you could ask for through burnt heads and does wonders in the later games of a tournament squad or that 3rd game transition.
The Big Blue Pearl has also been ressurected in my arsenal as an awesome power piece. What I mean by this is that even though the flare potential is low, and I have a very weak drilling in this(pin over middle finger, C.G. in palm, MB on top of thumb), the flare stays low but the ball stays strong and retains it's motion and energy. This ball has such a hard charging movement out of the dry that it tends to look like it won't hold pocket most shots, but with the low flare it smoothens out the transition from wet to dry so well. An excellent ball for harder conditions where accuracy and readability is a must.
Later on this week I will have a Blade Particle coming and a Big Block Diesel in the next week or so. I will definately leave you guys with some updates when they arrive.
I hate to be cliche' but Nothing hits like a hammer...
