would a pin directly above the ring (about 1 inch) or beside (1 inch to the right) the ring be a more controlled arcing type reaction? The cg will be just right of the palm on both drillings..
I don't want a skid/flip reaction as that would overlap some other stuff I have drilled up.. I would like max hook, but more controlled..
Any advice/comments would be welcome..

I drilled my High Rev with the pin above ring, CG swung right, X-hole back to 5/8 side weight (don't remember finger weight). Ball was a beast in the midlane, not the reaction I was looking for. Scuffed it to 2000 grit abralon and then polished for a couple minutes.
Am now able to get the desired length with just a SLIGHT read in the midlane, and all arc on the backend. Dont' be fooled, it's still a slightly strong arc, but an arc nonetheless, definitely NO flip in this ball.
Was able to play outside (at least for me) standing 15, hitting 10, out to about 5 with a great reaction. Could even get left and still make the corner (when the backends dried out, from in deep, this layout and surface prep definitely needs moving backends to make the corner)

Lane conditions- multiple, from house conditions, to Summer Sport pattern
Layout(s)-
Ball 1- 5" PIN to PAP 60* layout with pin under ring finger.
Surface: Box condition
Ball 2- 5" PIN to PAP 90* layout with pin above ring finger.
Surface: Polished to high shine
This ball is very versatile and roll well on all conditions. The cover is very versatile as well. The shiny cover works well on THS conditions with wet/dry. This ball is SUPER clean through the front part of the lane reguardless of surface prep, but has a different reaction at the dry. The dull ball will "jerk" more off of the spot, while the shiny one revs and arcs hard off the dry.
This currently is the benchmark ball in my arsenal.
