What are Hammers heavy oilers? Bite, No Mercy Beat'n? Please don't suggest the Anger because i have not had success with it on longer heavier oils.

I had a lot of success with the origional No Mercy on very heavy/long patterns.  I've had success on some heavy/long pattern in it's box condition which is 4000 grit.  So there's plenty of room to bring the cover down to handle large amounts of oil.

I have the beat'n and it works great in heavy oil as long as you clean it.

Hmm. Why no success with the Anger? I think it's great. I adjusted the surface to 500 abralon. Rolls great for me. I guess I would suggest the original No Mercy then.

I would say the beatn cause the cover is stronger and it will hook lil more than the mercy i liked them both so dont think u can go wrong with either one

If the Anger didn't work for you, the only other possibility would be the BITE.  I'm interested to hear why you didn't find the Anger good on heavy oil.

The no mercy beat'n is supposed to go longer and have more backend then the original, so i like the beat'n alot because it curves alot even in the heavy oil. You can also go onto youtube and watch some bowling videos so you somewhat know what the ball will do.

im with agroves on that one ive seen the anger in action looks pretty good but the bite would be the one i have mine at 2000 and it handles heavy oil and carrydown with no problem

In all reality the No Mercy, No Mercy Beatn, Bite and Anger will all work on heavy long oil.  In fact, take a Blue Vibe and bring the cover down to a low grit like 1000 or 500 abralon and it too will work very well on heavy long patterns.

I think your ball choice should really depend on what type of reaction your looking for?

What kind of bowler are you?  Stroker, cranker or tweener?  This may help us with which ball would probably work the best.

The No Mercy has a very strong mid-lane and hard arcing backend.

The No Mercy Beatn' has more length and backend than the NM.

The Bite has a little less in the mid-lane than the NM (not by much) and a stronger, more angular backend.

The Anger is also a very strong mid-lane ball with a strong backend.  When the cover is brought down on this ball the mid-lane get's very strong!

The Blue Vibe when dulled has a good mid-lane and smooth backend.  Basically just strong thru out the lane and will not overreact on super dry backends.  If you want control then this is the ball for you.

Same problem for me.

Anger burnt up too early and lost it's hook near the end. leaving me with the 124 6 split. Happened like five times in one game. Super choked.

First, what's wrong with your Anger on long /heavy oil patterns? What cover grit do you have your Anger at currently?  Have you ever brought the cover down?

Also what do you consider a long/heavy pattern?  Are we talking about a walled up house pattern or a tougher pattern that doesn't have free hook outside?

If your anger is burning up to early, the lane condition does not have enough oil for the ball to function at it's peak level.

It wont move at all. Especially on shark or scorpion, the longer patterns. I understand a ball should not move much in longer oils, but most everyone in the leagues balls move nicely on the backend. I have NOT tweaked the surface at all so i was wondering how i should change it.
