Psycho surface changes

OOB my Psycho just wasn't a good match for our house shot, which at the time was a modified version of Kegels Main Street.  I hit it with a grey scotchbrite and it was pretty good.  About a month or so into the season, the house decided to revert back to our old house shot.  

I tried using the Psycho with the grey scotchbrite and it looked good but didn't carry very well.  So, last night before league, I hit it with 2000 and 4000 abralon.  This really allowed the ball to store energy for the back of the lane and my carry percentage increased greatly.  I left only 2 10 pins in 4 games last night.  It has been a very long time since I've been able to say that.  

Some people are scared or just don't like to change the surface of the ball.  I think that is a mistake.  Sometimes you just need minor changes to increase your carry percentage with a ball.

I totally agree. You must not be afraid to alter the surfaces on any ball. It seems pearls today are good to alter. You get the best of both worlds. I changed my Psycho surface when i clean it with a white scotch brite pad and Clean N Dull. The outcome is a smooth surface that is not too dull or not too shiney. It's kind of like a matte in a way.For a mid price ball this ball is awesome. You have that strong midlane with a continous hard backend.
