I pulled the trigger.
« on: July 17, 2006, 08:41:30 AM »
Well guys I pulled the trigger on a Pain.  I called my pro shop guy today and had him order one.  I should get it on Thursday.

I really want to see how it reacts compared to my Dooms.  I'm going to drill it strong(stacked leverage) just like my favorite Doom.  If this ball works like I think it will I am going to bring my stacked leverage Doom back to it's box condition instead of the matte cover.

I will admit that I was hesitant on this ball because I just don't see how much of a difference there would be compared to the Doom.  Then I thought to myself even if the reaction is the same as my duller Dooms then that's ok.  My duller or matte Dooms work great.  So if anything I will have a ball that reacts just as good as the Doom but a different color.  The colors on the Pain do look cool.

Check out the pics from the 16lb one for sale on this forum.

I was watching my good friend and br.com member TheSuperHitman throw his Pain last week(he used the Doom the week before) and with identical drills, the Pain looked about 3-5 feet earlier and about 3-5 boards more ball overall.

The Pain is a good looking ball, the ones I have are a bit more cream than silver, but all in all a good looker.  The one I saw, was stronger and longer than his Doom, but he could hook a White Dot half way across the lanes, so hard to say for a "normal" person.

Cool, Chi, let me know how it works out.  I am considering one of these as well!

I'm not a bowler, but I do play one on Ballreviews.

I will let you know bud.  I really want to see if there's a difference between the Pain and a dull Doom.  If there really isn't much of a difference then that's ok because my dull Doom rocks!
