Anyone else drill up a wrench.drilled one up since hammer sent it to me as a replacement for my cracked epidemic and wow am I dissapointed.Ball just skates on any oil and isnt much better on the dry....wish I could go back in time and sell it before I drilled it up...

I bowl with the guy that owns the Pro Shop in our center and he drilled one up and threw it for all of 6 frames he said it was one of the worst balls he had ever thrown.

I have one that I drilled after I fell in love with the Ratchet and drilled it the same way..pin over bridge mb abouit 3 inches right of my thumb.  Yes, the Wrench cannot take a lot of oil...but in my opinion thats what it was designed for.  For me this ball is great on medium to drier lanes and especially on wood.  It has great length and a smooth backend for me which I prefer now over a skip/snap reaction...I get that out of the Jet Black Taboo and First Blood.

Well I went by hammers website which claims it to be a skid/flip ball for medium oil but ball does not live up to that as far as im concerned

I ordered the chalk already but was confused on the coverstock..it says gtr pearl so is it like a pearl taboo cover which is what im hoping since they had gtr, gtrII pearl, gtrIII pearl and gtrIV pearl

Not meaning to hi-jack this thread but, could it be that this ball is condition specific? And even more so.....house specific?

Case in point: I have a gold LaneMasters Fantasy-X. This was supposed to be a go long, hit hard piece yet, I couldn't use it in any of the houses I frequent. Ball just skated, with no turn. Went to a tourny in Gastonia, NC and tried it on a dryish house shot down there, and the ball was MONEY! Went to a tourny in southern virginia, and used it in a Bowl America house, on a dryish shot.....ball again was money! But if I took it to an AMF house, or a Brunswick house, north of the Mason-Dixon line, it was a turd.

So it really isn't a bad ball, it just needs the right conditions. I'm just sayin'.

If that's the only ball you have with that core, there is a reasonable chance that you might match up with that coverstock on a different core. Asymmetric balls are notoriously finicky, though the MPA core is mildly asymmetric.

You don't really indicate how it's drilled or if you've resurfaced it either...
