Hawg or Big Deal??
« on: March 09, 2006, 05:06:03 AM »
Heya gang!!

I am looking to fill my new Hammer arsenal with a Hawg or Big Deal. I noticed that both of these balls are partical pearl, and wanted to know which one would be a better fit for a Heavy Oil pattern (PBA Shark - B pattern, or heavy Sport shot) for my game. I am looking for a ball that will have a little more recovery room between the two. At this time I have a High Rev (1000 Abralon) and a Big Time (1000 Abralon), both with the pin above my fingers. I cannot drill a ball under the fingers due to my track & rev rate. I love the High Rev & Big Time the way they are, but looking for a oil ball from Hammer line.

My Specs:
RH
rev rate: 600-640
speed: 17-19 mph
Can play any part of the lane upon conditions.

From what I have read about these two balls is that the Big Deal has a little more backend. I am wondering if the Hawg is a little more of a roller that with my rev rate, I can make the ball come back from the outside.

Please let me know what you think which ball will match up with what I am looking for.

Thanks,
Plowboy

You are pretty close. The Big Deal will set up a bit quicker and a titch more backend, from what I have seen and thrown a couple, but keep in mind, the spans were NOT mine. The Hawg will turn and drive. I'd say it's almost a tie, but from what you are saying you want, I'd go Hawg...JMO

Agreed. Putting the Hawg and Big Deal side by side the Hawg is the true oiler of the 2. I think that even though you have a higher rev rate, the Hawg will recover for u if it was low. But then again, when playing a heavier shot you shouldnt be swinging the ball. Anyway, from seeing both balls thrown the Hawg will recover from almost everywhere with its core and id go with that.
