PAIN mini-review
« on: May 19, 2006, 03:05:08 AM »
Ball:
PAIN Raw Hammer
3" pin
2.75oz top

Drilling:
5.25" Pin to pap
located above ring finger
60* layout; puts the CG .5" above midline, and .75" right of Center line

Surface:
LIGHTLY hit with 4000 Abrolon, in halves
LIGHTLY polished with Factory Finish

Lanes:
1st season HPL's

Lane Condition:
"USBC" Sport type pattern

Results:
This ball reads this pattern VERY well.   I have struggled on it for the past couple weeks, looking for this ball reaction.    This ball, surface, and layout resulted in a ball that was clean through the fronts, very readable mids, and a super hard ARC off of the spot down lane.   The ball did not "JERK" like the pearlized DOOM does.   This was a very good reaction for this condition.  I am looking forward to using this on a house pattern on Monday.  I will post my follow up results from the house pattern.

****just for Chitown.   I think this ball will complement the DOOM REALLY well.   I am not sure this is a reaction you can get with a DOOM.   I have had 3 dooms, like them all, but I have not found THIS reaction.   I have them all layed out different, and changed surfaces, and I didn't ever see this!!

The Pain is a ball that I want to try for sure.  I put some of ebonites matte polish on my stacked leverage Doom and it smoothed out the break point very well.  It gave me a strong arcing reaction off of the break point.  It still had that little flip that can be seen when it turns so i'm thinking the pain will have just a smooth turn all the way to the deck.

I can't wait to try this ball.

Jason I know it comes out after bowl expo but what is the release date of the ball?  Is it at the end of July or beginning?
