What is a good heavy oil ball from hammer?
-
Im leaning toward the hawgzilla.
-
HawgZilla has an earlier roll and a harder continuous backend reaction compared to the No Mercy which is another good oil ball.

How about a shameless plug for the Real Deal (http://"http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=007&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&viewitem=&item=170083211576") ??? It was stronger than anything else I have thrown in a long time.

Am I wrong? It seems that every time someone asks for a good ball for heavy oil they really want to know what ball hooks the most. Or, at least, the replies all tend in that direction.
What I want in a heavy oil ball is something that gets into a roll quickly and will retain some tilt. It doesn't have to cover 2 boards to be a good oiler; it just has to hit the pocket while retaining energy. Maybe that's just me.

Hawgzilla would be the first choice. Second choice would be the Raw Hammer Pain. Third choice: Hawg. Fourth: No Mercy...just take the surface down a bit.

These balls have stronger covers that can handle a good amount of oil. The NO MERCY, PAIN, HZ. Now i'm not sure about where the HZ fits but the NO MERCY's cover is stronger than the PAINS. I have both so I know this for sure.

Hawg Z is a excellent heavy oil ball. The coverstock even at 4000 grit gets down the lane with carry down and has a hard arc to the pocket. Scatters the pins throughout the pin deck. Won't be dissappointed with this ball.

I agree Medichal, I have a HAwgzilla, and even with the weak drilling that is on it, becuase I was noob in drilling in such when I got it, it is still a strong ball that starts up early and makes a move in carrydown. Mine is drilled pin 1 1/2in. over bridge and CG in palm, basically 5.5x5.5 because of my 6 1/8in. PAP. I would really like to see what the ball is made of with a stacked drilling.
Even with my weak drilling I get about 5 or 6 inches of flare, which is pretty impressive. I think it is the best ball hands down for heavy oil in the Hammer line as of the moment, although i am retiring that ball because of switching companies, now it will be a test ball for surfaces and maybe a weight hole. It is still probably my favoriite hammer ball I have ever owned.Peace

I thought my Hammers hit hard, until I whipped a LM/L ball into the pocket. WOW!

HawgZilla, BW, No Mercy. All are very good balls in oil. But remember cover preparation is about 70-80% of ball reaction, so you can make any ball stronger that what it currently is in oil by taking 500 (1000, 2000, 4000, etc) abralon to it.
