Layout suggestions for Widow #2?
« on: October 26, 2006, 08:45:16 PM »
I have basically a 2 ball arsenal right now.  My heavier oil ball is an Epic.  My medium ball is a Widow that is laid out like this:

The Epic and Widow compliment each other perfectly for me.  When one isn't giving me the look I want, the other one almost always will.  The problem I'm having is when the midlane oil starts to go, and I'm forced to move left of 3rd arrow.  This occurs for me about middle of the 2nd game, sometimes a bit earlier.  The Epic is no good in this situation unless I gun it.  The Widow is better, but with that layout it wastes a bit too much energy, and does not quite give me enough entry angle from deep inside to carry well.  After thinking about it, I think I'm going to try a 2nd Widow to fill this spot.  I'm going to keep the one I have at 4000 Abralon...I love it and don't want to mess with a good thing.  I'm open to suggestions on how to lay out the 2nd one to give me more length and angularity on the backend for when I have to move deeper.  I was thinking about pin above the bridge (will be about 5.5 to PAP for me).  Not sure what angle or distance I should put the MB.  I'm also willing to make cover changes with my spinner.  All my stats and info are in my profile.  Thanks for any suggestions.

Black widow layout #1 for what you want

I have a widow laid out very similar to yours and it's a monster.  I've never seen a ball flip like it does in med oil

You have many options but here's my two.

Layout #1: pin above 5.5" fro your pap and MB in the strong positon(5 1/4 from pap).

Layout #2: Pin in the same location as the Widow you have now.  The MB put left ofthe thumb.  This is a control layout.  Your back end move will be less than what you see now.  This may allow you to not have to move in deep when your other balls become too much.

Id say, Pin above bridge and MB no more than 2" to the right of your thumb.  Has worked like a charm for most.
