Hey Hammer guys, how many balls do you take to tourney's?
I'm going to set up my topurney arsenal and really want to take the least amount of bowling balls as possible. I hate having to lug around a crap load of bowling balls. However, it's nice to have many options when bowling in tourney's.
Two bowling balls that are a must for me to take to tourney's are my plastic spare ball and scout urethane. The plastic will get used every game but my urethane will only be used if I come across toasted patterns which I always seem to come across at tourney's. Then I have my two Blue Vibes which will also earn spots in this arsenal.
I'm looking for two balls to go along with the above mentioned. Which two balls would go along with the above mentioned for tourney play?

well i think you need a strong pearl in there, so the bwp would be a good choice, and then possibly a regular widow because the ball can be thrown on pretty much anything. But if you dont want the bws then maybe a doom or something to give you a clean look but roll on the back end like a purple vibe.

I always take 6.
Always in the bag:
Something to handle oil
Rampage
Spare.
The other 3 depend on the pattern, if I know that before hand. I take what I have the most confidence in or what I've been throwing lately.

Six plus spare ball. I like to have something angular and arcing in each catagory. Normally this is what I take.
Blue Vibe = smooth arc
Cherry Vibe = angular
Toxic = smooth arc
Doom = angualer
Anger = smooth arc
BW = angular
But I do have some others that make it into rotation.

I've narrowed Nationals to four based on advice from my pro shop guy who usually bowls before I do and perhaps a few guys from ball companies.

I do know from my own experience that I seem to do better with less options. It's always nice to have many options in your bag but sometimes it can get to confusing.

If its somewhere that I drive to, then I take about 8. 6 come into the alley with me and the 2 extremes stay in the car (just in case). When I go to places like Vegas and I have to fly, I try to take all arounders and only bring 4-6. The one ball that always makes it into the bag is the plastic ball.
