How much does it cost to get a ball resurfaced?
« on: April 11, 2007, 02:34:28 PM »
I have decided to get my ball resurfaced to 2000. I figured if I didn't like I could just take it back to 4000. How much does it normally cost to get a ball resurfaced at a pro shop?

That's around what I figured, somewhere between $5-$15.

If you are talking about RESURFACED in the means of getting all the scratches and scuffs out, it is about 25-30 bucks

If you are just talking about a simple sanding to a different grit, $5 sounds about right

Yup. "Re-surfacing" means sanding with 180/220 grit or thereabouts to get out the embedded track and deep scratches, as much as possible, to restore the original reaction. Then bringing it up slowly to what ever the original surface was.

You're talking about just changing the surface. Going from 4000 grit to 2000 grit is about 10 - 15 seconds "work"; should be about $5.

Depends on the ball and what technique they use. I know by hand, we charged $25 for resin, $30 for particle, and $15 for plastic. We have a HAUS now, so I think it's $30 for resin and particle, except for legends, they are $40, and $25 for everything else. These prices are for a TOTAL resurface, not just a clean up sanding.
