Black Widow Bite
« on: April 23, 2008, 03:32:01 AM »
For you Hammerheads out there, I have a question around the Bite. I currently have a RotoGrip Cell (OOB now/1000 abralon for nationals), Columbia Resurgence (OOB)and Rival (shined). I was wondering if the Bite might be a good ball to fit between the Resurgence and the Rival? I find this is too big a gap for me, the Resurgence starts to use up too much energy and leave flat 10's, while the Rival, because it is shined, won't turn the corner yet. I really like my original Black Widow and wanted to try this one if it fits this hole. Thanks for your advice

I would think so , not knowing to much about you but the Bite is a killer. I changed my cover to 3000 with a different kind of pad and find it's better than when it was OOB or 2000.

AZguy,
What does the bite come OOB? Is it 2000 or 4000 or....? Thanks.

The Bite is a great ball. Its stronger than the original BWS and about 3-5 boards weaker than the Cell (one of the best ball ever). I also have a Rival which I change the surface to 2000 and with no shine. With the surface change the Rival works well when the Cell starts burning up and I do not feel like playing deeper than third arrow. Try the surface change on the Rival before investing in another ball unless money is not an issue. Even with the surface change the Rival will still be weaker than the Resurgence. Good luck.

One thing to think about is that the Bite actually is longer than the original.  I have all 3 US released BW's and prefer my Solid with a more tame drill.

Just keep that in mind.
