...to soak my Bite. It has been gradually getting weaker over the last few weeks. They could be playing with the pattern or I just need to freshen up the surface alittle. I'm guessing it has about 75 games on it at this point. When it was new, I was standing 20/21 on our house shot, now I'm at 17.
I'll admit I don't clean my equipment after every use, but then again I don't really think that it makes much difference in the long run. If you bowl 6 games, but the time you are done bowling, the ball absorbed so much oil that cleaning it will only take off a small portion. I do clean them about once a week.

Andrew, I usually clean the surface to just get the belt marks and crap off the cover. I use the HOT WATER BATH to remove the oil! What's great about the hot water bath is that it works!
-
yea, the hot water bath is the best way to go.

If at first you don't succeed use a bigger ball.

The dishwasher is a good one too. Just make sure it's NOT on heat dry, and your wife doesn't care.

I was surprised. The BITE didn't have nearly as much oil in it as I expected. I'm guessing here, but I think I have about 75 games on it. I put the BITE in the hot water for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, there was some oil on the cover. I wiped the ball down with some 409 and refreshed the water after another half hour, there was no additional oil seepage.
I used the BITE today in a tournament and it was back to normal.

When you guys are soaking the balls, I take it you aren't getting the finger holes filled with water?? Much easier with soaking....but dishwater??

BR.com.....going down the toilet one nugget at a time!!
g thing is back....with a vengeance!!

I don't worry about the finger holes, what is going to happen? Its not like the cores are so porous that it will soak up water and if it is, then it will dry out too.

Yes the water get's into the thumb and finger holes. Some people on this site say they tape up the holes but not me. Getting water inside the holes WILL NOT ruin the ball.
After you give the ball a hot water bath just empty the water that's left in the holes and let it dry.
