No Mercy drilling question

I''ve sent in a drilling layout request to Hammer and am patiently awaiting both a response and my NIB No Mercy.  I was wondering how many people had tried to move the HART two inches or so left of their thumb(RH) with the pin above the bridge(drilling #6) or if most people have had the most success with drilling #1.  I've got a 350 RPM rev rate with around 17.2-17.5 MPH ball speed at the pin deck, an axis tilt of around 25 degrees, and a PAP of 5.25" over, .25" up.

Are the pin-CG and HART aligned or very close?

Your game sounds very similar to mine, except you have a bit more hand and speed than I, and also a bit more tilt.  I don't even know what to call the layout on mine.  The CG was pretty far off to the left which of course limits what you can do with it.  I went with the pin next to the ring finger and the HART below my thumb about half drilled out.  This put the CG almost dead center of my grip.  I've been very happy with it.  It definitely needs head and midlane oil, or it just won't push far enough.  I've also found with this layout that I can't leak it into the dry too early because it will make a nosedive for the headpin.  If I were to get another one, I would personally keep the HART where it is and go to a further pin to PAP.  Hope this helps some.

OK.....that's close mine was an 1 1/2" off under my middle finger/left.  Screwed up the layout and ball.  

Make sure you have the correct pin to PAP layout you want and that the HART will be in your track.  Most report that their track was lowered using an NM.  With your game I'll bet you like the #6 layout better than a #1.

Just a guess.

Upon further review, the cg is about 5/8" left of the line drawn through the pin and HART.

Here's what I had envisioned.

Pin next to ring 4.25 from PAP, HART around 1.5-2" left of thumb with the cg around 3/4" to the negative side of the center of grip.  The ball is starting with around 2.7 oz. TW so I don't think a fourth hole will be required.  If so, I would place it very close to the PAP, maybe a little passed it, if at all.

NO MERCY #1:  #6 layout, pin above the bridge(5.5" from pap), CG kicked left to 1oz negative and HART 3/4" left of thumb.

NO MERCY #2:  Pin above the ring but towards the right side of it.  This is 4.5" from my PAP, CG kicked left to 1/2oz negative and HART 3" left of thumb.  That's right 3" left of thumb.

NM #1 has a good mid lane read and a strong arc type back end.  NM #2 has a little stronger mid lane read than NM#1 and has a much stronger back end reaction.  This back end will flip.

MY NM #2 IS about 5 boards stronger than my NM #1.

Look like the #6 layout is just a shift of the #1. I am waiting for a new NM with a 1" pin this way I can get the weight out of the middle finger and have the HART kicked to where it should be about 3-4" from thumb. Funny thing is I am laying the ball out in the #1 layout but it looks like the #6. To get the 4.5" Pin to PAP the pin had to go above the fingers almost centered between them. For those people this ball has lowered the track on (me included) maybe the answer is a shorter pin to CG distance to be able to keep the ball legal and get the desired reaction.

Hammer got back to me with a drilling suggestion.  It appears taht I was on the right track.  They suggested 5-5.5" pin-to-PAP with the HART around 2" left of the thumbhole in the ball track.  They noted this would place the pin above the bridge and to keep the negative side weight within USBC limitations.  Both of agreed, after speaking to a representative on the phone, that based on the alignment of the pin and HART that a fourth hole should not be necessary.  Thanks to Hammer for the suggestion and I'm really looking forward to how this ball performs.

Stopped by the pro shop on the way home. They finally got my NM in with a 1-2" pin to CG,low top weight. Layed the ball out with them and got the following.

PIN TO PAP 4 1/2"
PIN TO CG 1 1/4"
HART 3 3/4" from thumb definitely in the track.

Looks something like that just use your imagination.
I pick it up tomorrow night after work. Hopefully just before the leagues start and I can toss it a few times.
