OK, I've read they hype for quite some time, but I was reluctant to bite. After all, why did I need a Black Widow? I had The One. Well, at long last I decided to trade The One away, which was not easy for me considering that was my 300 ball. Anyhow, since The One was headed out the door, I decided to cave in and let me driller punch me a Widow.
I had the ball drilled pin beneath ring, cg kicked slightly right, lmb at about 30 degrees right of the thumb, box finish. I threw the ball about 7-8 frames before league started. From the very first shot, I knew that this ball was unlike any that I had ever thrown. It was simply violent. The ball would push just past the mid before digging in and screaming back in the hardest, yet smoothest arc that I had ever encountered. Once it got to the pins, lights out baby. Well, since I liked the look in practice, I decided to use it in league, which I normally don't do with a new ball.
Game 1-- X X X X X X X X 9/ X X X = 279 Damn ringing, and I mean ringing 10
Game 2-- X X X X X X X 81 X 9/X = 246 (6-7 split in eighth) 4-pin in 10th
Game 3-- X X X X X 9/ X X X X X X = 279 Nasty 4-pin, thought it would go
31 out of 36 strikes--279-246-279 = 804 My first 800!
I've read countless tales of people going 300-800 the first night out of the box with a new ball, and I've always wondered how. Well, the Black Widow gave me that answer. Don't get me wrong; I know I can shoot numbers with any ball, but this one sure made life easy. It's a shame that both of my leagues take two weeks off for the holidays. I want to get back out there and bowl tomorrow!
There are many good balls to be thrown out there, but if you want raw, smooth, nasty power, pick yourself up a Widow. You won't be disappointed!

I've only bowled 300, but I've benched 345
