Is the Big Blue really a HEAVY OIL ball?

Is this ball really a Heavy Oil ball... how can it be? It only has a differential of .026

So how can this ball have any kind of backend recovery at all on Heavy Oil???

Trust me....it RECOVERS!  Definately for the Heavier side of Medium.  The Power Diesel is probaly their truest heavy oil ball.

I have personally drilled up the power diesel, Big Blue and vicious strike and for me, the strike and power diesel have much more hook in oil than big blue.

I think the strike is more of an heavy oil ball than the power diesel, but they are close.

That is the MASS Bias differential. It is NOT the RG Differential.

I wasn't even trying to get that deep into this complex subject.
It's just that Ric is the 49th person to get confused by that published spec. I think even BowlingBallReviews has that number as the RG Differential. Besides its RG Differential is relatively small for such a supposedly strong ball.

King gets a little over our head from time to time.......it happens often when we're talking about stuff,..I'll have to say " whoa there big fella.....lay-mans terms please !"

I used this analogy a while ago.....I compare King to education,(bowling related)...I'm a graduate from a 4 year university, he's a Double Doctorate from MIT !

The Big Blue is an interesting animal isn't it....supposed to be strong, but has a DIFF of .026 ?? HUH ?

Alot of older Columbia balls had differentials of like .034.  You're still getting anywhere from 2-5 inches of flare with .024-.035  I think you people sometimes take the numbers too serious.  I've seen this ball in action and it does hook and recover.  I believe hammer know what they have on their hands with this one.

Yes.  Assymetrical core with an aggressive coverstock that has a strong midlane movement with a continuous arc.  It's like a Pulse on Steroids.

I too had concerns about this ball's ability to recover on heavier oil, especially since I probably only generate average revs or so, but this ball does get back to the hole if you give it some time in terms of slowing down a bit.  I have noticed some carry issues for me on my league shot which has some noticeably carrydown, and I have to go to my Raging Inferno or Fear Factor, but the continuation of this ball is incredible.  I would consider this ball definitely a medium heavy oil ball, flood ball for some with more hand and an overall great release from Hammer.

Until you throw the ball you can't really say what it does, you can only go on an assumption from factory specs.... everyone should keep that in mind
