Is the Blade a skid/flip or arc ball??
« on: August 05, 2003, 03:18:13 AM »

I'm thinking about getting the Blade but I wonder, is it a skid/flip type ball or
more of an arc?  Would one of the other Hammer's be better for a skid/flip type
reaction?

The viscious would be the best for that type of reaction.

The vicious line are all early roll balls, not skid flip. All of the Blades are skid flip. I have a 15 pound sling blade for sale NIB for $90 shipped. Its one of the newest Hammer balls on the market and is a skid flip ball.

What Viscious line is for roll. I ave had the opportunity to play a hammer challenge with "Rudy Revs" and we both came to the consensus that the Viscious is all skid flip. That ball never has a probelm clearing the heads.

Last time I checked, SF-33 and the other SF's meant SKID FLIP, not roll.  So unless Ebonite/Hammer has marketing issues, I take that to mean the Vicious series were skid flip balls.

I have to agree with what has already been said, the Viscious line is all skid-flip. The Original Viscious like to roll for 50 feet before making a straight left turn, as did the pearl. The Viscious Particle, while more arc shaped than the other two, still flips hard for a particle ball. Skid-flip is what the Viscious line is all about.
As far as the Blades are concerned, I wouldn't say that they are skid-flip either. The Pearl gets good length and gives strong backend, but it's more of a mean arc than a snap. The solid blade rolls earlier and arcs hard on the back as well. If skid-flip is what you want, go with the Viscious balls. However, for my money and sanity, you'd probably be better off with one of the Blades. They hit just as hard and are much easier to control.

My bad you guys...I meant is not a rolling piece. Very much skidish-flippish. I rolled one and had to put the ball down immediately because I saw too much reaction out of the ball the last 15 feet. Please diregard my second post because it was a typo.

Um,
I have a Sling in my arsenal(not this week,LOL).

Anyways this Greeny metalic ball definatly SF's
like it was design to do.Not only that it,when I mess
around, esecially med/light nights in oilland.I like to see
the S-Flipping in action, its a weird but neato site ta see.

This Sling Blade for a moderatly priced skidding/flipping ball
um,this can really tear up pins at the last second! Also
I've noticed its fairly easy to control in a such a short time.

Heck,we all have diff' deliveries, but I'm sure you can get use to the
the Sling!

Of coarse the Sling Blade is NOT for the Heavy to Mazola(aka Snack Bar Oil
Flooded lanes). You'll need a better ball for that.

ALso like this posters above me,take a Vicious or Vicious Attack would be
a good choice as well.

Um,give the Diesel a try too, even his cousin Turbo Diesel. Its up to you
in the final desicion.

Thats my 1 cent,GOOD LUCK thedjs.

for.

I guess you are reffering to the blade solid. Blue/green. I have the solid, pearl, and the particle. The solid and pearl flip well. the particle is kinda arcy/somewhat flips. If that makes sence. The particle for me kinda starts out with an arc, then does a flip. small arc going down, the flips when hits dry.

I think Ty did a great description.

In our house the Vicious was somewhat popular.
It really had a dramatic move down the lane and was probably just a little too long for our house.  The Vicious Particle pearl I saw once and it was just as angular but earlier and I've seen and had demo'd while still drilled righty the Vicious Particle I just picked up.  This is a very angular particle and earlier than the two above.

This really looks like a great ball.

I've seen the Blade solid (and now own one on the drill table).  It is a more rounded move than the Vici.  but it is not rounded it is a sharp hard arc!

Great balls the blade a touch smoother the Vicious, well Vicious!

REgards,

Luckylefty
PS to me the move of the vicious was very similar to the Red Fuze!
