Hey big Jake here is the issue:

I punched up a taboo right before I went to Reno. I have about 10 games on it. The ball just never seems to read the lane. I have it drilled with a 5" pin 4" mb and pin is above the bridge with a p3 x hole. This is my favorite drill pattern I never have an issue getting the ball to corner as I have above avg rpms. I've drilled about 10 of these balls up for customers and no issues.  I've rolled it on our fresh house pattern, carry down house pattern and cheetah pattern and have had 0 to very little reaction. I have also tried different surfaces. Depending how low I went I got very Early reaction but that's all due to surface.

Ball speed: med-high 17-17.5 mph
Rpm: 380-400
Pap: 5 1/4" x. 1. 3/8" up

I am having the very same issue with my Taboo.  Pin above ring, mass bias about 1 1/2" right of ring finger.  I cannot get the ball to do much of anything.  In fact, the best look I have had with it was off the gutter on Cheetah because it would not over react at all.  I have watched others around who make the ball look really good but mine not so.

What was Jeff's answer to this?  Or, has anyone else gotten a clue about why?  I had heard an unsubstantiated rumor that Hammer had produced a "bad" batch of covers for some early Taboo's but I never saw anything to confirm this or even a denial out of the company.

Jeff an I had emailed each other back and forth and he had told me that From the picture I sent him it looked like the fingers were drilled too deep I may have clipped the top of the core due to a short cg- pin, so I filled them half way with plug and drilled as shallow as I statically legally could but still go no reaction so I ended up ditching the ball to a player who has more revs than myself.

The original hammer employee Jesse told me they didn't have a bad batch poured since they started pouring the ball. Even if they did I wouldn't think that would go public.

When did you purchase the ball? I got mine towards the end of April.  Hope this helps

I have the same probloem with my Taboo.  I have tried various surfaces, but no success. I think I should have drilled it with the pin below the fingers.

I have a friend that is having the same problem with his taboo.  He has a ton of hand and this ball just won't move much at all.  He has plenty of other Hammer equipment weaker and stronger (? very sanded bite) that moves fine..

Is there a chance that there was a bunch of Taboos that had misarked mass bias?

Has anyone that is having problems put their ball on a determinator to see where it spins up to ??

I have three Taboos. Each one is from a different period of time. Have not had any problems. One is drilled pin down ,CG out, Another pin up CG static, Last one drilled pin up CG out mass bias 2 inch right of thumb. All react differnt from the other. Used all on varied house shots, sport shot, PBA tournys, no problems.

If I remember correctly, it was December when I purchased it.  I bought it for the senior regional in Parkersburg in January.
