Jigsaw or Rogue Cell

I'm looking for a good heavy-medium oil ball. something to complement my Ebonite The One Pearl. I've been looking around and narrowed my choices down to these two. wasn't THAT impressed with the VG, although it is a nice piece. which one do you feel would be a better choice? my current bag is

The One Pearl
Clash (older yellow and blue one)
Spare ball

just looking to add one or the other to make it a good 4 ball bag. i match up best with ebonite, hammer, and roto grip products. other companies just hasnt worked out too well for me. thanks!

I have a Rogue Cell and im very happy with it for heavy oil, but the Hammer Jigsaw looks very good. They have the same OBB surface and they have the same general ball motion, if anything the Rogue looks like it reads a little more mid lane, I dont think you can go wrong with eather one of them.

The JIGSAW has more mid-lane than anything from storm and it is more continuous on the backend vs the rogue.  It handle more oil.  We bowled on the SHARK this weekend in a 5 game sweeper and everyone in the top ten were using either the JIGSAW or an Hopkinsville piece.  Good luck

thanks guys. i think i made my decision. going to go with a jigsaw. i had a rogue in a 14lbs, but since i just moved back to 15lbs, i need something for oily lanes. since i already had a rogue, i was thinking about trying something different anyways. rogue was great, but kind of wanted something more. guess the jigsaw is that something more. thanks again.

As someone who has thrown them both I would lean towards the Jigsaw, both the Rogue and the Jigsaw layouts were fairly close, but the Rogue for me didn't want to finish down lane like the Jigsaw does. I also just drilled up a Bounty Hunter that does cover a few more boards than the Jigsaw does, but not in the back like the Jigsaw does.

does the jigsaw have a more rolly type ball reaction or a still hard snap reaction in the back? thinking about pin under and between the fingers, and kicking the mb out to the right. had great success with that layout for balls meant for more oil.

more rolly than skid snap. Be carefull that you dont kick the MB out too much. The JS is very cover strong and you can easily make the ball into a pig by causing it to burn up too fast.

If you want something with more backend I would look into the Full Swing. More backend than either the rogue or jigsaw and can handle just as much oil.

well i did that layout on a rogue when i was throwing 14lbs and kicked it out about 45degrees. is that jigsaw that much stronger?

and as for the fullswing, im not that big of a columbia fan... i know they're all the same brand, but columbia just isn't for me. i've had the rival, momentum, and the jazz and just doesnt seem to match for me. ebonite, hammer, and roto grip match great for me though! haha.

No offence, but making the jump from a One Pearl to either the Jigsaw or Rogue Cell is pretty big jump up in oil handling.  If you wanted to stay in the Hammer line I would think about a Black Widow Sting and depending on the reaction you get take the factory 2000 grit up to 4000.  There are some good choices in the other ball companies that you like, but I love the widow core and the surface is so easily modified.  

It's your $$ but I just see there being a big gap in your bag with getting either the JS or RC compared to a One Pearl.

I see the same thing when comparing my Jigsaw and my Rogue Cell, they compliment each other very well, when the back ends are fresh I use my Jigsaw, but when the back ends are open up and the Jigsaw is too much, my Rogue Cell is a lot earlier and smoother to control them.

Both are great balls and would work well as a 1-2 punch at the top of the bag.

recently, i had to go down in weight due to an arm injury. i currently use

Rogue Cell
Cell Pearl
Raw Hammer Crime (International from Japan)
Emerald Vibe

would adding the jigsaw now be useless? the rogue does handle a lot of oil already. would it handle even more? my rogue is drilled pin under the bridge and mb kicked out.

I tend to agree with Daygn and the Jigsaw can always be polished.  Personally I would still opt for the Widow Sting (with a pine up drilling) over the Jigsaw to compliment the Rogue.

This is more of a response to poster, Yo, since I don't really know about the One Pearl.

I have both a Rogue Cell and Jigsaw.  The Rogue is laid out just like yours, and has a very strong arc.  I don't turn the ball a lot, so it works well when I face heavier oil and try to work it down and in.  Shot a 290 with it the first week I had it.

Now the Jigsaw.  Have only had it a couple weeks and all I can say is WOW.  This one I had drilled with the pin over the bridge, with the idea of getting more skid/snap.  It does exactly that.  On my fresh league shot, the thing was just devastating.  Even later in the night, I was able to  keep it in the oil and got great length and devastating back end.

All in all, I would say the Jigsaw may be a little more versitale, but it probably depends on how you lay them out.

yes, my rogue does have a very strong arc. however, i do get A LOT of entry angle with this ball. left a 7-9 in the pocket(im right handed).  i think im going to order a jigsaw to help me out as well. thanks everyone!
