Jigsaw Question?
« on: September 16, 2009, 04:23:27 AM »
I want to know has anybody changed the surface on the Jigsaw. I like it out of the box and I want to experiment a little bit. Mit try and see how it works at 1000, 2000, 4000 only and so forth. Shot 654 with it last night although I should had put it up after the 2nd game. Very versitable ball and very hard hitting. I drilled the ball with the pin under ring and cg and mb stacked all the way down.

out of the box the ball's surface finish is good for med-heavy, but for anything with carrydown it needs to go down to 2000 or 1000.

I took mine down to 4000 and used ebonite factory finish polish on it.  Just to clarify I went from 1000, 2000, and than to 4000 than polish.  As OOB it is 500 than straigh to 4000. Out of box the ball didn't want to hook down the lane.  It was burning up a little early.  After taking it down and putting the polish on I got the motion down lane that I was looking for. I guess if you are looking for a little more off the spot than give it a shot. Hope this helps.  You can always put the surface back on.

Mine was given to me sanded at 500 after being drilled, so I have no experience with the OOB finish. It was dying out on me like that, so I have tried ti sanded at 1000 and 2000 and I liked both finishes. Doesn't die and hit weak anymore, rolls a lot smoother and hits much better. I'd like to buy a 4000 pad to try OOB style finish, but I like it where it is right now.
