Title: Joe Ciccone Used a No Mercy Today
Post by: crusher267658 on December 17, 2006, 05:16:10 AM
I was watching Joe Ciccone today on TV and he used a No Mercy. The NM he was using was hitting very flat. It seemed like he was leaving a lot of single pin spares when he was able to hit the 1-3 pocket. Anyway just thought I'd tell you guys about it.

I wouldn't say it was hitting flat at all, he was very inconsistent in his speed and where he put the ball. When he got the ball in the pocket it did well but he seemed to be overthrowing it the majority of the time and getting washouts and the double wood.

Yeah now that you mention it that is pretty much what happened.

He should get a plaque for his performance.

I feel that the Hawg Zilla would have performed better.

Hm, i've got the match on tivo and really watched his shots and saw a definate variance is his speed on numerous shots that resulted in leaves. He really hit it a few times in the downswing, first time watching it i'd agree with your observations but upon further review he really wasn't that consistent. He would have torn a THS up but the pattern didn't give him a chance to recover on his not so perfect shots.

I was pleased to see him not look to nervous like other shows I've seen him on.

He also looked plenty aggressive versus very tentative in other shows from the past.

I think he wins either this year or next year!

PS I thought the best reactions on the show were Chris Barnes Action Attack when illlustrating the way to play the pattern and Norm Duke's Thunderstruck pearl on his one inside strike shot.  No mercy did look a little tired on thsi particular TV setup  by the end of the lane!

Inconsistency, bad carry, washouts, what was the pattern ,what ever it was it was fresh and fresh shots have no mercy on the no mercy
