Anger..Polish or not
« on: September 04, 2008, 11:37:40 AM »
I just got my second Anger with the pin under ring and CG kicked 45 degrees.
Love the way the stock shell rolls.. great midlane movement.. but sometimes if I get a little right and play too many boards.. the ball gets to the head pin but looses hitting power.. leaving 7 - 10's and 10 pins. I was wondering if anyone has change the surface to allow the ball to retain it's power.. like 3000 - 4000 with polish..
Thanks

You might get it up the lane alittle better with a 4000 grit sand.  It is still a strong rolling ball.

Yes, indeed. My teammate just recently did exactly that. Put polish on his Anger that was previously 800 sheen. Pin under ring, cg kicked to 45 degrees.

This took it to about 2000 polished. It enabled him to move more right on the lanes(right-hander), and gave him a very strong arc to the pocket.

I tried it also, (we have the same span). It was a beautiful thing. Ball just obliterated the pocket!

Thanks for the information.. I will probably polished it over current shell (2000)... One nice thing about polish is that you can always take it off...
I have never had two of the same ball.. with different surfaces.. so it will be interesting to see the comparisons.. I used to like flippy re-actions on the lanes.. but seems that a hard arcing ball works better for me..

I have my 2nd Anger, pin under ring, cg kicked out 45*, with a weight hole. I took the cover to 4000 abralon, then hit it with the Secret Sauce. I love the even rolling reaction, and consitency I get with it.

Great ball, and tweaking the surface let me really get what I was wanting out of it. My first one is drilled 3 3/8" stacked leverage right of the fingers, 500 abralon, and it's my oiler-works great.
