I got a chance to use my new BITE in my league over the weekend. I was bowling on a 39' flat gutter to gutter pattern, buffed to 42'. The backends were moving pretty good. This is a tough pattern.
On the above pattern the BITE had tremendous backend recovery. The BITE seems stronger on the backend than the NO MERCY. The BITE also has good mid-lane read and seems very clean thru the heads. I think the NO MERCY is a tad bit stronger in the mid-lane but not as angular on the backend as the BITE.
The BITE just had an awesome reaction through out the entire lane. The only negative I can see with this ball is the control factor on tougher patterns. I don't think the stroker type players will have any problems with controlling this ball on any patterns. The higher rev guys are the ones that may have a little bit of a problem with the control. Of course it really depends on the pattern.
I went to a stroker release in the last game of league. The BITE worked very good with that type of hand release. When I switched to the stroker hand release and played more direct on this pattern, I was able to control the reaction a lot better and still had tremendous hitting power. I actually had a lot more fun rolling this ball with the stroker hand release than I did with my normal release. A lot of that was probably due to the type of pattern I was bowling on.
So far the BITE is a winner in my book but won't give it a full review until I can use it on some more patterns.
