Last week, after about 70 games, I decided to clean my Widow with Clean n Dull. I have had the ball since it was first released last year. In that time, I have put over 200 games on it. About 3 or 4 times it has either gone in my oven or a Revivor to remove oil. I have also cleaned it maybe 5 times, and now I remember why. For me, this ball does jack squat without some oil or dirt on it. I used it briefly in a tournament over the weekend and had to bag it after 2 shots because the backend it is famous for was non-existent. Out of curiosity, I pulled it out on our league shot in the middle of the 2nd game. I threw it 1 time and whiffed the headpin to the right.
I remember this happening every time I have freshened up the surface in some way. It is garbage until I get 10-12 games on it, then it springs to life. I'm not sure what is going on. Maybe it's because I got a ball from an early batch? I'm not mad about it, just intrigued as to why a dirty ball would work better than a clean one. This ball is notoriously high-maintenance for most users; I won't touch the surface of mine ever again.
