Has anyone tried or seen the new Nail in action? I am considering it for a longer medium shot but don't want it if it is really more for drier conditions.

Here is a video review of the Nail. Looks and sounds to be what you're looking for.

I saw a guy throwing a Nail Sunday on fresh oil Sunday, he had a real nice look playing down the boards on a THS. He looked to be covering about the same # of boards as my box finish Cyclone, but a pinch more length. Hope this helps!

I got one just last week. To me its more aggressive than what I thought it would be, however, a very, very, nice ball.
I've got mine pin above bridge and it definitely is stronger then the Vibes, IMHO!

+1, the Nail is about 3-4 boards stronger than a similarly drilled Cobalt Vibe.

Got this ball for my birthday, 14 lb, oob finish, pin drilled between bridge, i consider myself a stroker, with med revs and slow to med speed, 198 avg. i bowl on wood lanes with guardian. 1st 2 weeks of league i was able to break 500. The third nite (last mon) i tried a different shot, from 15 to about 7, and shot 216, 257, and 269 for a nice 742. this ball is stronger than i thought, gets thru heads great, then seeks the dry, and goes left, and for the price it is well worth getting one.

The Nail Smoke and Fire is a great ball for medium to dry lanes. I used Layout 75x5x35 and when the fronts start going away. I can move in deeper and it's a hard arcing ball. I love the color, but it's a great ball to have in your arsenal.

The Nail is like many balls in this type of performance line. It isn't going to really read and roll in the oil, but it still comes off the dry plenty hard. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that it doesn't snap off the spot the way a lot of similar balls do. With this one, I have faith that I can get it to push through the front, and it's not going to be "left turn, Clyde" once it comes off the pattern. It finishes strong and hits very well, but it remains stable. All in all, it's a very nice piece if used properly.

I got the Nail and its great on medium to dry. Its a great corner stone ball in my arsenal I don't leave home without it.

I don't understand why the Nail is so much stronger than the Grape Vibe? I mean the core on the Vibe looks stronger than the Nail core.
Hammer is showing differences of over 4 boards at the arrows for the NaIL.
I mean neither ball is core weak by any standard.

lucky....it's the coverstock. The Shredder coverstock on the Nail is the same cover as the Burn which is VERY strong off the spot.
The CutThroat resin cover on the Grape Vibe is much smoother than the Shredder on the Nail....

Ah Doug thank you!
That explains it! I appreciate it!
