Which is the stronger one? Correct me if I'm wrong, but these are the strongest balls in the Widow line, and the Jacked is just under them. Just trying to understand the Hammer line a little better.

From what i''ve seen the Sting is a good deal stronger, but is early reacting. The Nasty is very lengthy and tends to push when the sting hooks.

Though one point i forgot to mention initially is both were thrown in box finish for that observation, and when you compare the Sting is at 2000 abralon compared to 4000 abralon for the Nasty.

That's sort of what I thought, although I wasn't paying too much attention to the motions. Just which one would cover more boards. Having seen the Sting in action, I'd have to be afraid of something stronger, especially on the backend.

I wonder how the Jacked compares to these, but I have to assume it's only a little stronger than the Acid and under the Nasty.

Actually, in box finish (1000 abralon) the Jacked is very strong. A local pro shop guy drilled the nasty and jacked and the jacked was a good 5 boards stronger than the Nasty, a lot though could be from the finish but it definitely got in roll quick and made a pretty sudden move the second it hit dry for him.

Just a comment,I have 2 friends( one on hammer staff) and both said that they did not like the Nasty very much. Said it didn't roll very well.

While I don't have a Jacked (yet)...I've been comparing the Sting and Nasty for the past couple of weeks (got a test ball sent to me). I laid both balls almost identical and in box condition the Sting is definately earlier. On my house pattern they could cover about the same about of boards once a track developed, but prior to that the Sting would outhook the Nasty since it wouldn't push down the lane so far on inside lines. On sport patterns is where the differences really came out as you could easily say the Nasty reacted harder to the down-lane friction and I could see the ball "stand up" much harder. Not that the Sting didn't, but it's move was more even. I did try both at 2000 and while it made the Nasty more agressive I still liked the look of the Sting better as it was a bit easier to read for me.

The Jacked uses the same coverstock as the original Black Widow solid! Great coverstock for a mid-priced ball!

The Jacked will hook maybe board more than the sting,the Nasty will give u a lil more length than sting but more smoother thru front part of the lane and not as touchy to the dry as where the sting will take off and with surface adjustments Im sure the Nasty will hook more, I have them both and I like Nasty better more consistent and I've been able to use mine all 3 games just move inside and don't lose any carrying power for corner pin and this ball is very strong at 4000 wit touch polish haven't had a problem with oil yet.

The Pure Swing is not bad ball but 1of my teammates even with oob I had a better look with Nasty the nasty is much smoother of breakpoint where the PS will jump, far as the JIgsaw corner u Gina need oil and I hope it's much better than the 1st Jigsaw

So it sounds like the Nasty and Sting can be similar in total hook but it's one of those "it depends on the conditions" as to which will actually cover more boards since they read friction differently. As for the Jacked, I would really hope it's not as strong as the other two since I thought they were making stronger Widows. But yes, with the original Widow cover it definitely isn't weak.

I'm not drilling anything, this is for knowledge and understanding only. At this time, at least.

i drilled a Jacked 70* x 4", pin up & oob.
also will be drilling a Nasty 65* x 5", pin up & oob

i know the Jacked has been stated as similar to the Acid, but with the Black Widow coverstock, i think it will be a little more angular than the Acid was down lane. at least i hope so. lol!!

I agree, dballz. The Jacked should be more angular and at least a touch stronger overall.
