First of all... WOW
Second of all
the Drill: Pin placement 2 - 3 Top: 3
Drilled 5 x 3 pin below the Bridge, with the cg kicked at 45 degrees with a hole down low in line with the pin and cg...
3/4 inch hole down 2 inches
static weights: Finger/thumb weight: 0 Side Weight: 3/8 oz.
The Motion:
This ball is so clean through the heads it is ridiculous, cleaner than the Cherry and the Blue Vibe (I love the blue Vibe and the Cherry Vibe). Honestly it goes down lane so nicely, and then has the snappiest backend out of all the Vibes hands down. I want to be joking or something but this ball even hits harder due to the strong motion on the back... (sidenote: this ball is gorgeous to boot!) It honestly was so insane on thursday night for league, I had to stand 6th arrow... (granted I have 500 rpm's on the ball, but it was still fun, and we bowl on second shift madness after the 6 pm handicap league....) , but Thursday during the day I practiced with it on the Scorpion, and it read the pattern and still had a snappy backend, so much so it seemed like there was no OB...
Then this weekend bowled the regional int he Western Region at Camarillo bowl, and I again used the Emerald Vibe, for half of qualifying, all of semis and again in the round of 8 at the regional on the fresh. I will put it this way, I used a 2000 grit pain, or a 2000 grit No Mercy, and then switched to the Emerald.
Honestly a great kickoff to the summer of new Hammer equipment that is coming out, if the Emerald is this good... can't wait to see what the Psycho and Venom are like
P.S.
There is no way this is an actual Purple Vibe Re-tread... this ball has way more motion and hitting power than the Purple... The numbers are slightly different on each ball too, but honestly the look I have with the Emerald I am thinking more along the lines of the Doom cover which is the enhanced Max Flip Reactive...
Also... the backend is insane, but highly controllable, do not want to stray anyone from drilling such a great addition to the Hammer line, it honestly is an amazing piece of equipment and its so darn pretty going down the lane to boot!
This ball is great and I will be drilling another without question... any questions about the Emerald or anything else, just ask!
