Hi - your friend's style sounds similar to mine.  Here's what works for me with my BWP:  It's drilled ring finger thru the pin.  Ball won't work on heavy oil, but on medium with box finish it's great and has great backend.  Any ball drilled for me pin under won't finish - it's got to be pin at ring or just over ring finger, or possibly kicked to right.

Hope this helps and good luck - ball can be a backend monster if it's drilled right and on the right condition.

I've had 3 BWP's, all drilled different. First one was pin over bridge, cg kicked right. This ball just never matched up for me for some reason. At times it was like it just rolled out, and never had anything to it. The second was pin under ring, cg kicked about 45*. This was really smooth, and I loved the reaction of it.

The 3rd, is drilled 3 3/8" stacked leverage, 4000 abralon, then polished. I love the reaction of this ball on our THS. Great roll, excellent backend/carry. The cover to me is very touchy, also and pretty layout sensitive.

If it's rolling out on your house shot, I'd say polish it up, and take the grit up to about 2000 or 4000 too.

Is she bowling on a typical house shot that has dry boards outside?

If your bowling on heavier oil and the ball won't bite, then the cover needs to be adjusted to a lower grit.

You also said the ball rolls out on medium conditions.  Does she have really slow ball speed?  Are you sure the pattern is not too dry?

I don't think you need to change the drill layout.  I think it's more about the coverstock and or where she's playing on the lanes.  I would buy some abralon pads 4000, 2000, 1000, 500 and give thaty before you plug and re-drill the ball.  You will see a difference in reaction between 4000 grit and 1000 grit.

She has no problem with it on a flash 38-40' THS with box finish. The ball hooks hard at the dry, but she just need to put it down once the reaction is gonna start flatting out after only about 2 games.

The original idea was to get the BWP drilled with a smoother reaction out of a skid-flip piece to fill up the gap between the BW solid drilled pin over bridge with MB next to the thumb, and a Storm Fired-Up drilled skid-flip, and, it was actually drilled just like Fatboy's pin under with cg kicked 45*.

It's not like she can't use it at all, but not really be able to use it much, while she could also make great reaction out of her other pieces on the same condition.

Basically, I've already tried different finishes at 1k-4k abralon on little heavy conditions, and 1k-4k polished on medium conditions.

Both of bowl200 and jodyk24 had actually stated a very good point. The dry area that she plays is actually very limited. May be I should just suggest her to try shifting her break point at the dry to see how it comes out.
