I currently throw a black widow solid.  I am looking for something that is more reactive for oily situations and long oil especially.  My favorite line is fairly hard straight up 8-10 boards and then a snap back to the pocket.  I am more along the lines of a stroker but I do throw with some speed but not a ton of revs.  Don't know an accurate MPH though but harder than average speed.  Currently I prefer to keep my widow sanded with a green scotch brite pad as this works best for me.  I do prefer the hammer line as I always have but I am not limited to just hammer bowling balls if you have any suggestions.  For comparison sake I have been looking at the Bite, Resurgence, Cell, and Attitude Shift.  IF you know any others I am open to that as well.

If your looking for a stronger ball than your BWS then you have three options with Hammer.  The BITE, NO MERCY, ANGER.  I would choose the BITE since you like the Solid.  The BITE is stronger than the solid thru all areas of the lane.  The NO MERCY would also be a great choice because it's stronger than the solid.  The NO MERCY and BITE are probably very close in strength just in different areas of the lane.  The NO MERCY is going to be stronger in the mid-lane and a tad bit less angular than the BITE.  The BITE will be stronger on the backend.

I threw a friends bite and liked it but his spread was a little off from mine.  So if I were to go that way should I look at an aggressive drilling for it?  I really am wanting it for a heavy oil and long oil type setup.

I have a Resurgence and the only thing about this ball is that it skids through the heads and then has a strong move on the backend in oil. But i also have pretty high revs and throw around 20 mph.

I would recommend the Anger.  Huge ball for the money and tons more hook then the BW.  I had both and the BW went on the used ball rack within about 12 games.  The Anger I have two held in backstock.  Now if you have to spend more money, the BW Bite is similar to the Anger, but a bit more skiddy.  I like my BW Bite, but not setting NIB aside for later.

The Bite would be my choice. The Anger is a great ball too, so get both, lol.

The Bite is more snap on the backend, and the Anger is smoother/arcing. The Anger can handle a touch more oil than the Bite does too.

Skip snap on heavy long oil seems like a contradiction in terms to me. Higher ball speed with lower revs playing up the boards you need something strong with midlane read. Anger with a strong drilling, take your green scotchbrite pad to it, and fire away up 10 board. IMHO!
