I think the biggest void in the Hammer line is actually at the opposite end of the spectrum. I really can't sell the Vibe as a dry lane ball. I'd really like to see Hammer develop a line for the "entry level" bowler in mind and for the bowlers who need more length than the Vibe offers.
Don't get me wrong, I love the Vibe and it sure fills a need for many bowlers. But I'd be able to sell even more Hammer product if they had something similar to the Tornado/Scout/R lines...nice enough looking for the recreational bowlers and kids stepping up to reactive from plastic, enough length for speed challenged bowlers, yet enough performance for drier/late shift types of lane conditions, travel leagues and tournament shots that need to be conquered also. Not all of us want to (or are able to!) loft the inside gutter cap.
What do you say, Hammer? I'd rather sell Hammer "Punches" than Tornados and Scouts! <hint hint>

I like the idea. I would love to have something that would go longer than my Vibes and more choices than just the Pure

a less aggressive entry level ball is a great idea

the vibe is way underrated and is a great midline pearl almost, it has great power and hooking capability, something with a three piece core would be awesome

Personally, I'd like to see something like the vanished (*sniff*) Blade series again - esp. the older ones, which might fit the entry level/low perfomance bill by today's standards. Simple balls with a simple (proven) core - the original Hammer core which is only left in the Burgundy Pure Hammer. This one as a polished pearl reactive (place taken up by the purple Vibe currently, I think?), a sanded solid reactive and maybe a particle ball would make a nice basic combo.

you could just drill a Eb. Tornado... They are the same company and escentially the same ball kind of reaction.

I second this. I really liked the Blade Reactive, and the Sling Blade was also an amazing ball. In the current line, the blade line would match up to the popular (and rightfully so) Raw Hammer line. However the doom is quite a bit stronger than the Sling, as is the Pain than the Blade Reactive. I figure that a more mild pearl would be a great release that would give them a great release in the lower end where I personally fel that they're lacking.

Keep up the chatter, guys! Not everyone wants MORE hook! "Less is more" very often! Maybe someone will see this and get the hint.
Ps...bowled double shift tonight. Finished shift one with a Toxic and the front 9. Oops, lofted shot = 10 pin...nice grab. I finished the 2nd shift with a Tornado and the front 9, everything in the pit EXCEPT the 10 pin on the first ball in the 10th...frickin', frackin'......should have thrown it worse...LOL
If you love the game, wood lanes rule, no matter how much you hate them!
