Back to back 300's out of box with Beat'n
« on: October 23, 2007, 04:33:51 PM »
One of the guys i drill for started the night with back to back 300's with his No Mercy Beat'n. He threw the ball a couple of times in practice before but wasn't yet comfortable with the thumb ( he likes to finish his own thumbs). Threw it first time in league tonight and started with the first 24. Obviously this ball will be a Keeper for him

Nice shooting, my only question is did he win any pots? lol...I know with the handicap situation it takes more that 300 to win pots these days...lol

Stormed, how did the ball react for him, and what drilling did he use?  What's his game like (stroker, cranker, etc.)?

talk about karma...  this topic caught my eye, and reading it further has me kind of scared. Last night (October 25, 2007) at Jersey Lanes in Linden, NJ I myself threw back to back 300's.  I too did not reach 800 as I couldn't buy a double in the 3rd game although I could have, and maybe should have had the front 9 strikes.  10 pin in 2nd frame stopped me at 25 strikes in a row, 7 pin on a badly thrown ball in the 4th frame, followed by a stone 8 pin in the 5th slowed me down.  I doubled in the 6th and 7th only to leave another ringing 10pin in the 8th.  I missed that spare right leaving me with 156 in the 8th and a strike in the 9th.  Heading into the 10th I knew I needed the next strike to reach 800 series for the 2nd time, but pushed the ball way wide to the right missing the headpin.  I converted the spare and since I didn't need to score any further I tried a different ball, throwing a 7 count for a 193.

I wasn't using a Beat'n, instead I was throwing the Track Kinetic I had drilled two weeks ago by Lonce at Next Level Pro Shop.  Like the guy here, I too shot 300, 300, 193 for a 793 series lol.  I won the first two high game pots, high game of the night, and high series. I messed up as I had 7 out of 7 brackets, losing all of them with the poor last game. Entered the night with a 217 average over 18 games, left with a 224 after 21. These were just my 3rd and 4th sanctioned 300 games, the 3rd for me this season in that league.

Congrats to the person who was the topic of this thread. Sorry for hijacking it a lil but this seemed pretty strange for identical occurences to happen like this lol.

Spoke with him yesterday when he stopped by asking about a ball ( works right next door to me). Said he had to move 8 left the 3rd game and could'nt carry the 10 . missed 1 of them and had a rail for his 193. Another bowler on the team had 775 with a Secret Agent

Vanni,

I know the NW IN bowler that shot the 300's x 2.  If the shot is on the outside he is money, he is a pretty good bowler as is, ave. around 230 as long as I've known him.  He has good speed, a good amount of revs, and loves down and in.

The house where he shot the 300's, (wood lanes by the way), has made the shot much easier this year, pretty much china out there now.  We have had numerous award scores and we are only a few months into the season as opposed to last year.
