Hi there. For the past 5 years or so I have been drilling for myself and my customers (I own a small pro shop) primarily Storm and Roto Grip equipment - with the occational Columbia ball thrown in for the lower end stuff.
I just ordered an original Hammer Black Widow for my 14 year old son. He is a high track / higher speed bowler with lower revs (maybe in the 200 range). From what I've seen from other bowlers this ball does exactly what my son needs - it revs. up early yet continues it's move all the way through the pins.
I was thinking for him I would drill this ball 4 1/2 x 3 with pin under. Does that make sense to you Hammer guys? The distributor will deliver the ball this afternoon so I really only have about 6 hours - sorry for the last minute but I am hoping to get some input today.
Thanks

Hi Green!
I agree with Jeremy here. 4" Pin to PAP is very strong. I would place the Mass Bias at about 45 degrees, just my two cents! Hope this helps! God Bless!

OK, so after reading your responses, a couple of individual messages, and looking at the drill sheet (the same as every other asym. drill sheet) I decided to drill the ball 4x3. The pin ends up just right of the ring finger - needed a medium-size balance hole on PAP.
We didn't get a chance to throw it today. I will update the thread either tomorrow or Thursday after he throws it.
Thanks for the input everyone.

Finally got to have my son throw his new Black Widow. Initially the ball hooked TOO much for him... so I moved him a little left and WHAM - solid strike. Every ball that hit the pocket carried. The ball was a little longer than his Paradigm Passion but with a more aggressive move to the pocket at the breakpoint. I am very happy with this ball for him - a perfect fresh house shot ball. He is a 140s average bowler and in practice he averaged around 165 for 4 games. Thanks for all the advise guys.
