If I get a toxic how should I lay it out?
« on: December 17, 2006, 11:04:40 PM »
You can see the layouts of my BW, Pain and Doom in my profile.  I want the toxic for its added length compared to the Pain without sacrificing overall hook.  How would you set it up?

Mr. Lebowski, this is Bill Salnicker with the Southern Cal Bowling League, and I just got a, an informal report, that a member of your team, uh, Walter Sobchak, drew a firearm during league play. If this is true of course, it contravenes a number of the league's by-laws, and article 27 of the league...

Ryan, you could drill exactly like your PAIN.  This should give you a good complement to it.

Put the pin where the Pain's pin is...  but feel free to move the CG around.

If the Toxic is naturally longer than the Pain, then the same drilling would give you what you want.  You could give them a little more separation by moving the pin about an inch left of where it is on the Pain, just over the bridge.

What would moving the pin further from my PAP do for the reaction?

Reduces flare and adds length.  Since the pin on your Pain is already above the fingers, you may not want to raise it even higher (the normal way to get length).  I figured that keeping it at the same level but moving the pin further away would get you the length you want if the natural differences weren't enough.

Thanks, I still have a lot to learn about layouts.  Though I've read a few faqs and explanations, nothing quite works as well as actually thinking about how it would affect my own equipment.
