Polished Black Widow?

I am wondering if anyone has polished their Black Widow.... if so, what happened? What type of reaction did you get compared to OOB? Did you leave it at 4000g before polishing? And on what condition does it work?

With mine in it's 4000 grit finish is a very strong ball.  It worked OK but I decided to polish it with factory finish polish by Ebonite.  The polish allowed me to get a lot more length out of the ball.  

I have found that with the polish this ball became hard to control.  The back end became a lot stronger.  Now keep in mind this is my opinion.  Others may have better results.

I prefer the BW in box condition.  I feel that the duller finish helps control the ball.

I hope this helps.

When I polished mine it was at 4000 grit before polishing.

The BW is great for med to heavy when in box condition.  With the polish the ball is best used on med.  At least this is my opinion.

polished mine was very hard to controll,oob was too.anything 2000 grit or lower works for me but I feel the widow is very drill specific.if drilled strong the polish may work well,mine is drilled skid/flip and thats exactly what it dose.

Had a customer polish his. It was almost uncontrollable for him. Brought it back, I put it back to box and it's working great for him again. The ones I sold locally, I tell them, no polish , go talk to (customers name), he'll tell you, no polish, no control and not worth the effort.

i have one at box (benchmark ball), one at 500 abralon, and one polished with Neo Tac Renew it... i did the ebonite powerhouse factory finish polish, which is an amazing product... but it made the ball skid a bit too far for what i was looking for... took some of the renew it in the shop and hit it 4 sides... the ball came out looking like a diamond... it was extremely tacky though... it perfectly compliments my 4000 abralon widow in that it about 5-7 boards less hooking potential than the 4000 abralon one... it also pushes down the lane further before its initial reaction... it definitely works because if my 4000 widow decides to start hitting throught he face i change to the polished one and move a couple right of where i am and am dead ont he money again with a new look witha  polished widow

I recently had some lane damage done to mine, and thus had it repaired.  I went to the shop to pick it up and they had polished it.  I do not know what they sanded it to first, or what kind of polish they used.

I didn't use it much, but that's because I really did not like it polished.  For some reason it killed the backend.  It made the ball just kind of lope down the lane with no defined move.  It was ugly.  I will take it back to box where it is an amazing ball.

I must be the only one with any luck shining this ball...

took it from OOB and hit w/ track magic shine...gives me incredible length with a great precitable flip on the last 10 feet, hits like a truck.

with the pin over the bridge and the cg kicked slightly, if you dont want a extreme skid flip reaction then you wouldnt want this drilling shined, but if thats exactly what your looking for, dooo ittttt

great with it,  I don't remember the drilling

I just had mine polished...I first took it down to 1000grit and then polished it up...I bowled league with my BW like that for the first time and I was getting great reaction and tons of pin action along with a 215 Avg for the set...The reason for the polish was do to my slow ball speeds so it helped from rolling out and i was looking for a little more snap at the backend.

I need some help. I had the BW which was oob surface, and was bowling real well w/ it. A few weeks ago I had the brilliant idea to polish it. I didn't take the surface down w/ any of the grit pads, I just applied the polish using my spinner. First night, the ball went real long but came back pretty nice. I actually bowled my best night of the season.(734) Well the last 3 weeks I've really been struggling. I dont know if its the ball or me.

I was wondering how should I get the ball to where it was? Or how should I properly reshine it???

yes i polished mine and it gets down the lane alot farther for me and thats what i wanted. it saves alot more of its energy and hits hard but i couldnt stop leaving stone 10 pins and 8 pins with it. other then that it was a great look. the condition was medium- medium dry
