I'm noticing there aren't any new review videos, or even new reviews coming out on the Ratchet yet. I know it just released 4 days ago and this is the first weekend of release, but wow.

I'm actually excited to get into the MPA core. I've matched up with everything Hammer I've thrown, and I get this tonight as a birthday present a couple days early. Unfortunately won't be getting it drilled up soon, though... money is an issue.

Anyone had good/bad experiences with the ball yet?

I have a friend on the EBI test staff,he received an unmarked ratchet months ago, and he loved it.The reaction was very benchmarkish for him.

Here is my review that I posted on this website back in June - For me, this ball is my favorite ball to use on the medium heavy to heavier patterns in the Hammer product line. Let me know if there are any questions regarding this new gem!

COMMENTS

The Ratchet is the perfect complement to the Hammer product line with the modified M.P.A core from the Brick series & the hybrid cover, gets the ball through the front part of the lane with ease, but offers a strong mid-lane movement with a continuous motion in the back ends that does not stop. With the box surface (3000 Abralon); the Ratchet actually matches up well with the medium to medium heavier patterns that I have bowled on so far. I liked the Brick, but I LOVE the Ratchet… I played with the surface at 4000 Abralon & 3000 w/ FF polish, and I really like the way it rolled at 3000 Abralon factory finish surface. The only weakness this ball has, that it is not for the drier lane patterns even if you polish this ball as the motor in this ball is very strong rolling.

The Ratchet has a little different look from the Brick & the previous Taboos (Blue/Silver & original Taboo), with a little more back end continuation which does not quit at all. That is what you want in a strong rolling performance ball for the heavier medium patterns. For me the Ratchet was about 5-6 boards stronger overall than my Brick (cleaner in the fronts & more back end too). This ball fits perfectly between the Brick & Taboo Blue/Silver.

Dear...sweet....baby....jesus....

This ball is AMAZING. And Plowboy...When you said not for drier lanes, you understated, sir. I drilled it 5x5 instead of 4x4, with the pin 1 inch down and 1/4 inch to the right of my ring finger.

This ball MOVES when there's friction. The only option I had to try the ball out on was broken down THS, shot pulled all over the place from open play, and evaporated due to heat.

I literally was watching the ball starting left at 30 feet, playing 39-20-5. I'm sure if I had fresh, it would be much tamer, but the amount of read the drilling gave the ball... I'm praying for a flood when I walk in.

Not bad mouthing it by any means. I got exactly what I wanted, just a LOT of it. And it's going to stay that way.

Gotta get some time on the fresh to really know what it'll do, but seeing that...I'm not worried about oil.

Jake, I highly suggest it. 80% of the backend of the Taboo Jet Black, 100% of the B/S Midlane, and shredding power of the MPA core. It hits, and it hits hard. I've tried it on a medium THS and it flat out moves, still have yet to go to the house with a heavier/longer volume, though.

Mine is 5x5 pin down, I don't have the dual angle down, so I'm not sure. Even with it being so far pin down, the ball projects relatively far down the lane, and the reaction from the friction is pretty strong. As long as it has oil this ball does some work.

Hey Guys, what ball would go under the "Venom" and in between the "Nail"? I really like what I hear about the "Ratchet" but it just might be a little strong for my use.
