No Mercy....
« on: January 19, 2007, 03:38:50 AM »
Just received my No Mercy yesterday. I plan on drilling it today.

I'm leaning towards the #1 pattern with the Pin anywhere from 4 to 4-1/2
from PAP.

Should the Hart be on my first flare ring or should i place it in the middle of my track?

Anyone know?

shoot for 3-5 flare rings in.   So, just when you think you are IN the track, move it .5" further.... (just a tip, that way you don't miss it!!)

What would moving the heart closer to the thumb hole do?

Drilled first NM #1, box finish.Pin to PAP 4" above ring and Heart 1 1/4 left of thumb center. Works great on med house shot up and just outside the oil line. Gives great hold on slightly tugged shots and still has that pop to carry corners or shake a light one. Never have had a ball carry like this ball. Almost like shooting fish in a barrel. I can line up and keep a similar line all night while others are moving all over to get to the hole or to carry. Great recovery off drier boards to right without extreme jump. Love this set up and box finish.

Bowling in local top sixteen tourney , tighter shot , seems to be more oil and definitely by 5th frame quite a bit of carry down. Ball #1 just fought me, over under. Still carried once got into pocket right, but one would push too far, so would move eyes and feet out, and then would jump too early. Swing wet out to dry and breakpoint would not be predictable enough.Loved ball otherwise too much so didn't want to alter surface. So enter next day with a newly punched NM. Pin still at 4 1/4 to PAP, but below fingers ( below ring for me ),Heart 2 Inches left of thumb center and below, and cover to 1000 abralon. I worried it would read ok but lose pop on back to carry. WOW. WOW. Five boards left with feet to keep it in the heads and then out to 8 at the break. ( or ten or five or six...just out ) Same day same shot with #1 would have been okay first game ( was in warm up ) but I know I would have fought that over under once the oil pushed down. It happened to my opponent. While I continued to move my feet left one board at a time to keep the ball in some oil early. Moved six total in 4 games head to head. Shot 959 and was high for day. My look kept getting better while others kept getting worse. I made a move once on a flat ten due to not having more than one ring of oil on ball, just to catch more oil and rev up more. WOW. This thing is a beast on a tougher shot or one with more oil than you may be used to. I was told not to do pin down on this ball, but I am glad I have both now. Two totally different balls with same great carry.

WOW, Al
