Hey everyone. This ball has some amazing flip on it in the backend which I really like so I'm thinking of picking one up. I'm leary of the 4000grit finish on it though. Is that going to be easy to maintain, or will I have to get it resurfaced every couple of months? I want to keep a nice length on the ball so I'd rather not sand it down at all but if I have to constantly resurface and do maintenance on it then I'm not sure it's worth it. That's partially why I'm turned off by the angular one, way too much maintenace for me. I just want to clean it, resurface it once every 6 months or so, and have the ability to take it down if I have to. What is your guys' opinion?

The No Mercy is 4000 Abralon, not 2000.

I have changed the cover on mine a couple of times and have had no problem. I use abralon pads. Its now at 2000 abralon polished. I will say that this ball does pick up alot of oil and dirt from the lanes.. It would be a good idea to clean after each set.. I use clean and dull because that ebonite powerhouse cleaner doesn't remove much of the dirt at all..

I second using Track's Clean and Dull. It's the best cleaner I've found as of yet. And be sure to clean your ball after every set...it's important to keep the ball, any ball, in optimum condition.

I clean mine regularly and would with the no mercy. I'm not so much worried about keeping it clean as much as I'm worried about it keeping such a high grit finish. I've found with high grit balls that the track wears down fast, and in order to keep it with good length you need to resurface it often. So at 4000grit, is this going to be an issue? What polish do you guys use?

With any bowling ball regular maintenance should be done. All bowling balls should be cleaned after every set. This will keep the balls working great.
Now with the NO MERCY and it's 4000 grit surface you shouldn't need to sand it unless your looking for a different reaction(more grab). You should be able to just clean it with Ebonites energizer cleaner after every set. Very simple process. This cleaner won't change the surface on the ball and it works great.
The balls I feel are the most maintenance are pearl reactives or any pearl ball. these balls need to have polish applied to them on a regular schedule. For example I re-polish my Doom after every set now. I will apply 1 coat to four sides with my ball spinner. This keeps the reaction the same and long lasting.
My other bowling balls only need to be cleaned.
So I don't see this ball being a high maintenance ball. In fact I have not come across a ball that needs too much maintenance.
