No Mercy vs Beatn
« on: November 29, 2007, 09:32:57 PM »
Hi!

Friend of mine is thinking about a NM ... either the bad black one or the beatn.
He already has a BWP and is very good with this ball on our local lanes but he is a bit of a ball junky and needs one. Ouir lanes though are rather dry imho and he has good to much hand... so I see no need for this ball... but he wants it so I am doing him a favor and some research (and maybe I can stop him from buying a wrong ball)...but still...

So my question is:

How do those two compare with the standart layout (1:30 label - strong as explained with thise "HART-core-concept") to each other and the BWP?
From your personal view and experience

With the same layout, you will see the NMB longer down the lane and a hair more angular in the back. The NM is still strong in the back but it’s also a bit sooner. Both of these balls are much stronger than the BWP and read the mid lane much sooner as well. Compared to the NM’s, the BWP will skate through the heads and mid lane saving all it movement for the back.

Totally agree with bluerrpilot, Beat'n will cover the most boards of the three. The NM will start the earliest, and the BWP will be the most angular.

If your lanes are a little on the dry side, he might think about something like a doom or maybe even a blue vibe. Neither of the two NM series balls are for dry lanes by any means. They might even burn up a little early on him, and have nothing left on the back. Just something to think about.

And by the way, tell him not to hesitate to think about one of the vibes because they're "entry level balls." Trust me, judging by the hit and carry of these things, you'd never be able to tell they're lower-end stuff.

I have to laugh when I see someone say, "but it's an entry level ball"...given the condition of the lane that just may be what a person needs. A couple years back Chris Barnes won the El Paso  stop with a Super Trooper, a good "entry level ball" for what it's worth, a ball is only as good as the person throwing it.

The Vibes are both great balls, IMO, the Blue is a bit stronger but they do tend to react differently so it's hard to compare 100%. If your lanes are "dry" then he sure won't be happy with either NM. Suggest a Vibe.

thats the point.

He does fabulous with his BWP... he alrad has a Radical... a big one... a doom.

But the BWP is pin under ring and works better than anything he has.

The bigone I cleaned for him as the ball was dead and "oil sicked" imho and now the ball hooks again but burns up as you said could happen with a NM

His dooom also workes great! But this ball starts to crack around the fingers...

I also have seen people play a NM with great success here (strange oil pattern; imho drier but when you play in the soup it seems to be oily enough)
Thos players are high speed high rv players

Whatever Thanks for your thoughts and oppinions!
