Title: No Mercy.. weird one here..
Post by: FastTracker33 on November 17, 2006, 09:38:34 AM
I saw a No Mercy yesterday brand new, with the pin, cg, and HART like this..

---------p

----cg

-----H

Exactly like that too, the HART was a little right of the cg.. what can you expect from these specs here? You can't put the HART to the left of the thumb, so what's the reaction gonna be like?

the pin and hart when lined up perfectly straight would mean that the cg is offset to the left of the pin and hart... this ball would be perfect for a lefty and would cause problems for a righty to drill it... since the hart needs to be closer to the track, the cg being offset like that will cause the static weights to be off and probably more than one ounce or the desired drill, with the hart closer to the track would not be achieved

This ball was drilled for a righty, and the HART ended up below, and just a LITTLE to the right of his thumb. He insisted on getting it drilled although the driller warned him. I didn't see him use it though

My friend has that same exact layout on his no mercy he bought on tuesday, it was suppose to be strait inline but the driller he went to is a dumbass, second time I have seen him screw up peoples balls.

His ball hooks pretty damn hard in a strong arc motion, but it seems to be a little inconsistent, i don't kno if it is the ball or the bowler.

Mine came with the CG off set to the left of the HART and PIN.  The ball came with 3.5oz of top.  I had the #6 layout put on the ball.  Pin above the bridge and HART just left of the thumb.  The furthest left I could put the thumb was 3/4".  This put the CG as far as it could go without going over the 1oz of negative side weight.  No balance hole is needed with this layout.

I get a very strong reaction from this ball.  In it's box condition it can handle a good amount of oil.  The back end is just plain sick!  Very strong and this has to be the strongest driving ball.  It drives into the pocket like no other.  Pocket hit's are almost always strikes.

i have 2 mercy's so far... one had that weird instance where the pin is offset to the left... and my HART ended up under and slightyly to the left of my thum with the pin next to my ring and the cg under my middle...

the second one... has the pin above the ring... cg under middle and the HART about 2 inches out from my thumb on the left... ball rolls strong and hits like a beast...

My No Mercy came w/ prety much the same alignment.  The driller
was a little skeptical about drilling it at first.  I haven't
really tested it yet other than the few practice shots I took.
It didn't seem to really hook anymore than my Smokin Inferno, but
it sure hit hard and yes it strikes on almost all pocket hits and
it did trip out several 4 pins on a couple high hits.

I bought the ball from Buddies.  Anyone else w/ the same weird
alignment buy their No Mercy from them???

I've got a No Mercy with the following layout basic #1 drilling pattern and 3/4 oz. negative w/an X hole 1" above my NAP.  I am going to remove the negative to 0.  The ball does hit well on the fresh but like crap during transition and carry down.  For me if if I bought a No Mercy again I'd try to find one that had the pin/CG and Hart more lined up.
