I run across a dark red/ burgundy hammer. I was wondering what kind of specs it would have, and I still throw a black hammer on occasion, so how would it compare? What kind of layout was common for this ball as well? Thanks for your time. Don't know if it would help but the id number is 92UB3432.

the burgandy is a urathane ball with the calssic hammer core. on todays conditions it will be a good controll ball. its just like the burgandy hammer that hammer ius putting out now, the Burgandy Pure hammer. Anyway, with its box polishedsurface you will be able to play very right up the boards with a arcing reaction in the backend on the dry.

Thanks for the replies. I have one other question, how does one know how the ball is laid out. Both my hammers have the circle cross hair looking thing in the center of my grip the the hammer under my thumb. I know some things with Columbia with the cg and pin but the old hammer stuff I've never understood.

The distances are insane, I think. The black one is something like 5 1/2" and the burgundy one is 7". I don't know that it matters much but the burgundy pin is in the hammer logo as well by the E. Thanks for your time Jeremy.

OK, I hope the link works. I had to sign up on we todd to post, I guess. Ya, I'm a lefty. This ball isn't drilled for me but, the only thing off the the ring finger is a 1/16th longer than my stuff. I thought it was pretty good for just finding a ball and not paying for it. All my stuff is older but, with my wife being a stay at home mom, watching our two kids, I'll take the trade-off. I stand third dot or second depending on the approach throwing around the 7 board at roughly 16 mph. Pretty straight compared to most but, I really don't have a ball thats hooks a bunch. I have a Black hammer, maroon Track Stomp, kinda pink flame Columbia Messenger, Columbia White Dot, and I have yet to throw the burgundy hammer. Here's the link for that ball...

Just turn the CG "target" to what the "fab" in at 12:00 and drill it straight up like Nothing Remains said. I did the lefty drilling to my Blue Hammer and it won me a state title. Let the cover do the work.

If you're going to plug and redrill a Burgundy, tell your driller to use a sharp bit and be careful. The Burgundy was prone to chip or lose chunks if the bit slipped a bit. It was the only one of the "original" hammers to have this tendency.
