I Just had my Bite drilled up Friday. I layed it out 4.5 pin to pap and 3.5 MB to Pap and it has a small weight hole on the VAL..
I bowl in a 6 game travel league on Sundays and the place we bowled this week double oils the heads so it takes longer to break down than normal. There is normally a decent shot there, but you can't miss right or you are in trouble. I also had not bowled in this center for 6 months or so, so not sure really what to expect. Not a place I generally bowl at..
After shooting 607 the first set, we switched pairs and I decided to try the Bite. I bowl first and we get no warm up shots the 2nd set so I am kind of the guinea pig to see how the lanes are. I throw my first shot and leave a bucket, then only knock 2 down on my 2nd shot. There was obviously MUCH more oil on this pair than the ones we had just bowled on. I was thinking, maybe not a great decision to use the Bite LOL, but decided to stick with it and just moved my target and feet 3 boards to the right and then strung a 10 bagger and finished with a 276. I then shot 258 and finished with a clean game of 223 for a 757 series for the first 3 games out of the box..
Now onto the things I noticed with this ball. As the lanes transitioned other people on my pair where struggling with the carry down but I kept making minor adjustments and still hitting the pocket. The lighter hits carry great with this ball, throwing pins everywhere. I also only left 3 or 4 10 pins the entire set. I was also able to miss right and the ball came back with no problems..
In closing, is the Bite a great heavy oil ball, probably not. Will it handle carry down well, YES. Does it hook more than the regular Black Widow, yes without a doubt. I am guessing 4-5 boards through out the entire lane, To me, its a whole different ball reaction over the regular BW that I had. This is a smooth arcy type reaction where as the regular BW was skip/flip for me and it was drilled very similar to the Bite..
I think this will be another successful release for Hammer..
