PAIN is just flat out awesome.
« on: November 19, 2006, 10:58:03 AM »
Guys I just have to say this again.  The PAIN is one feaking awesome bowling ball.  I bowled well today at league and won a good amount of cash.  This season has been very good for me.  I have been using the Pain about 98 percent of the time.  I have bowled on 3 different patterns this season in league.  The Pain performed great on all 3.

I bowl on a tough lane condition league.  We are using 5 different patterns this season and not one of them is a blocked house wall.  All 5 of them are very difficult. We use a pattern for 4 weeks then it get's changed.  Great league to bowl on.

Well the reason for this post is to just let others know.  The Pain is one hell of a ball.  It work awesome on difficult patterns.  It's very smooth yet powerful.  This ball does not overreact.  The Pain in box condition can handle a good amout of oil.  It hit's and carry's like no other except for it's brother ball (DOOM).  I like this ball more than the DOOM.  However both have there place in an arsenal.

If you bowl on tough lane patterns or in a lot of tourney's then this is the ball to have in your bag.  In fact, if you don't have this ball in your bag on tough conditions then your at a dis-advantage with others that do!

Yes this ball is that good.  Plus the real kicker is the price!  Now this is coming from a person that has the BW and NM in his bag.  Yet the PAIN is used about 98 percent of the time.  Why?  when there's this much money on the line, I want the ball that's going to give me the best chance to score and score big on these types of conditions.  The RAW HAMMER PAIN is that ball!

I am getting another Pain this week.  Get them while they last!

It's drilled with my favorite layout.  Pin above the bridge (5.5" from pap) CG kicked right to 1oz(3/4" right of grip center) and no balance hole.

Now this PIN location is the only one I use now on all my equipment.  I just let the cover and cores separate the reactions.

Now I do have to make this point.  I had another PAIN drilled stacked leverage.  This ball was way too strong and I traded it in.  These two balls were night and day difference.

Now I have a decent amount of hand so leverage layouts are usually not a good pin location for me.  In fact, the only ball I had a lot of success with the pin leverage was one of my DOOMS.  It had the polish knocked off and re-polished with ebonites matte polish.  This cover grit and layout allowed the ball to burn up enough to make it not react much on the back end.  This allowed it to be very controllable.

So yes be careful how you drill it, just like with any ball.

Chitown,

Drilled mine last night and can't wait to use it.
Even though are styles migh be different, your layout
has worked on a Horizon that I have with a 5 inch pin,
and cant wait with this 3 inch pin - 3 1/2 oz top Pain.
My ball speed has lowered over the years and I totally
agree with using this layout, but on different coverstocks.

And most important !
Go Bears !
