Scotch Brite Pads...
« on: March 01, 2008, 01:41:05 AM »
I have a Widow Bite that is going too long and not getting much hook or reaction (I think the problem is the oil at my alley is very deep).  Someone told me to sand it down with Scotch Brite pads to help cut thru the oil and get an earlier reaction (and, I have read that several times in these forums).  Here are my questions:
1.  Are they referring to the Scotch Brite scouring pads or the sponge pads?
2.  What is the difference between the colors?  Which color is best to use?
Thanks for the help...

Buy yourself some green scotch brite pads at walmart.  The Green pads are about 600 grit.  The Grey pads are 800 grit.  Scothcbrite pads work well.  I prefer abralon pads but there expensive.

abralon works better.

but scotch brite has its purpose as well. works great on thumb holes for a smooth feel and takes the shine off of balls by hand. also a great way to change the surface by hand.

What's the drilling on your Bite? That could make a huge difference in hook/length.
