Polished Bite: who did it, at what grit, and results?
« on: October 01, 2008, 11:40:45 PM »

Hey folks, looking for help from Team Hammer.  Since I added an NVD, the Bite is sort of out in my arsonal. It's too close to my Black Widow solid.... I was thinking for polishing it to fit below the BWS, to give a look somewhat like a Black Widow Pearl.

So my questions to anyone who has polished a Bite:

-- how di you prep the surface (200g or 4000g Abralon)
-- what did you use (e.g., Powehouse Factory Finish)
-- and how did it react and work for you

Thanks!

I have two Bites:

#1--4 1/2 pin to pap, above ring, mb on VAL about 30* drill.--2000 grit
#2--5 1/2 pin to pap, above bridge, mb at 45*--4000 abralon plus brunswick high gloss polish.

What reaction do I get?  Alittle longer and a touch more angular.  Obviously more squirty in carrydown.  I used it for 8 of 9 games at Nats and on a variety of other sport shots.

I polished on of mine...Hit it with an 1000 abralon pad then polished it up with Factory Finish.  Long and strong for sure...

I enjoyed mine at 1k abralon and polished up with Ebonite Factory Finish. It allowed it to be more usable for me as it didn't want to roll out or hook stop so much.

My second bite though just was fine without polish but I went with the pin under my middle finger and the ball worked great until I decided to sell it.

I polished my bite with good results. I used a piece of P800 wet/dry paper then Brunswick High Gloss.

i have polished one of mine. 2k abralon, factory finish.
it is 4 3/4" from pap, pin up, and 90*. definitely gets downlane and makes a nice recovery off the dry. sold my pearl, so i decided to polish this one, and right now, i am glad i did.

dballz, Does it react like your pearl in terms of back end? And Length?
