Polishing a Black Widow?

Going into fall leagues, the lanes at my league house are very dry.  I'm thinking of polishing my Black Widow for the dry conditions.  How often will I have to polish it and/or should I buy a dry lane ball instead?  If so, what would you recommend?

This is a sore subject to me. Sorry, but the B/W is not for dry, buy a ball that is. I'm not saying you couldn't make it for dryer conditions, but why ? There are plenty of good dry/dryer balls out there, buy one for the conditions you will see/need it for.

I'm not against cover adjustments, but getting a ball for conditions it was not designed for, just doesn't seem to be a good idea, IMO.

Yes, chitown has done it with his Dooms, but I'll still say, most balls will not accept that much change and still do what you think they will do or you bought it to do.

Didn't want to sound gruff, but the B/W is not for dry, the Vibe is a great dryer lanes as is the Ice, Super Trooper and there's many others, best to get one for the conditions you are looking for, easier to keep the reaction and not wonder if it's the polish or lack there of or the lanes, JMO.

If you do get the Vibe, be careful if you get the Blue Vibe.  I have it and got it drilled like this:

This ball has a continuous arc and hooks strong on a fresh THS.  Originally wanted this one to fit above my Tropical Storm (dry lane) ball, but beneath my U-Turn.  I am going to have a weight hole drilled in it to tame it down.  Don't get me wrong, the Blue Vibe is a great ball.  It hits very hard and is underrated in my opinion.  Good luck with your choice in dry lane ball.

I think the Tropical Line is a great dry lanes balls. Not a huge Storm fan, but I think they have a great line for what it's designed for, JMO

I'm not sure the black widow could EVER be a dry lane ball.  I have mine 4000 polished and can only keep it on the right side on heavy oiled synthetics.....

is it 4000 with polish or 4000 abralon?I've been considering a little polish.my bw seems to like alot of carrydown or really long oil but if there is dry on the backends it rolls out.maybe I'll leave it alone,just looking for some feedback on a polished b w.
