I have both backlashes, but not the freeze. These balls hook in different ways.
I would suggest the blue silver if you are looking for a more controlled arc shape movement. The red ball for me is definitely skid flip. It gets down the lane through the heads much easier than anything I have in the bag, but it definitely turns the corner on the backend and is very angular at the end of the lane.
You can't play in the dry with either of these balls. They both allow you to stay 5 or more boards inside the line that you would play with the stronger covers, like the virtual gravity, mission or 930t. On a totally broken down shot this weekend, I was able to use both balls standing 30/35 playing out to 10 at the break point and carry decently on what was really a horrible shot. I move and tried to play straight up 5 and both balls hooked at the arrows.
