Raw Hammer Pain
« on: January 30, 2008, 10:17:36 AM »
I was just curious to know if anyone has used the Pain during league and what success have you had. I have read the reviews but it wasn't quite what I wanted to see. I have this ball and bought it when it was first released. I have only bowled 50 or less games with it. I use mostly InSite products. Is the Pain a pretty good ball for heavily oiled synthetic lanes?

I use a Pain and love it. Heavy oil I don't have here, so I can't say first hand  but change the cover and it may well work for that. Med/heavy it's a great ball.

Its a good ball. Pretty rolly too. More of a control ball, it doesnt have a big backend. Its great on tougher shots too. The anger is the heavy oil replacment.

From what I heard the Anger is the same ball with a slightly more agrresive cover. I am bowling on some heavy oiled synthetics on Friday night travel league and I just cant seem to figure out these heavily oiled synthetics in out area. However, our home house is very dry on the outsides. I really dont feel like spending the money for a brand new ball either. I was hoping maybe the Pain was a good match up.

The pain is great on sythetics. I used mine in the city championship last year and shot 740. Of course it depends on how you role the ball. I have another one with the pin up and some polish and it works good on the house shot (synthetic)also. The pain is more of a control ball and works best on medium/heavy oil.

The PAIN is an awesome ball!  I had a ton of success with it.  Yes it's works fine on heavier long oil at the correct surface grit.  I liked mine at 500 grit on heavy.

I like my PAIN a lot.  i gave it a bit of a rest when i got the No Mercy, but have rediscovered it again of late.  it has great carry, hits the pins hard and when the conditions suit, is very reliable.
