Not yet.... It only had 2.25 oz. TW, so as it sits now, it only has 5/8oz. PW.

I got my toxic drilled yesterday. To be honest I was expected a stronger back end reaction. I told my pro shop I wanted it to go long and snap back and here is how he drilled it. I'm open to all opinions...

Wow. That is not at all drilled like I would have drilled it for max backend reaction. Does that have a weighthole? Are you right handed or left handed?

No it doesn't have a weight hole. I'm a lefty. I'm guessing he drilled it for maximum length??

That ball seems to not be legal with too much thumb weight. I would think that this ball would pick up early and roll out with little hook potential. Maybe one of the drill gurus will comment on this....It's defintitely not a length drill. It's drilled to hook earlier but seems to have too much thumb weight.

Shane, it might appear to have a lot of thumb weight, but unless the driller is a total tool, I'm sure it's still legal. All he'd have to do is drill the thumb a little deeper.

Why would he drill it that way when the customer wanted maximum backend? I would have drilled it like mine....

Slap, do you know your PAP? This drilling looks strange to me. CG too far down towards the thumb, and the pin under the bridge is - if you PAP is not too exotic - a rather weak drilling for control.
A maximum lengthg and back end drilling would have IMHO have the pin above the fingers, the CG stacked below it and also much higher, on grip center height, and the pin closer to your PAP, maybe above thering finger hole or left of of it (again, given you do not have a off-standard PAP). The ball itself with its long pin distance should be a great basis for a flip layout. But with what you got, I think it is no wonder that you do not get much back end out of it!

Thanks for the quick replies and I'll await more opinions.
I was initially concerned because the toxic was only covering a few more boards than my blue vibe. Not what I expected.

Sorry I don't know my PAP. I doubt it's anything weird too strange. I could snap a few pics of other balls if that would help.
There are a few guys who work in my pro shop. Now that you guys are confirming my suspicions I'll make sure to have the expert driller take a look at the ball.
Next question. In your opinions can this be fixed?

I think this ball would look way better with just a little less lime green and more silver.

The one I saw on Thursday doesn't look nearly as good as these. Hardly any silver in it and the green is lighter than I expected. I did see a Black Widow with a ton of red phasing in it that looked cool.

Hey Slap,
I have a Doom drilled similarly to this drill. I'm a righty. Your driller drilled it for max backend, but, because he has the pin down, it's going to really smooth out the snappiness of your reaction. If you really wanted to see snap and backend....have him raise the pin an inch to an 1.5" over the fingers in this same layout, and you'll have a completely different animal!
My Doom was drilled with the pin high, and the first couple of spins I took with the ball were darn near uncontrollable. After about 10 games or so, the ball tracked up a little and calmed down. That was when the fun, and high scores started!!

Yeah, with my experience with Pin-Below bridge, you get more of a control type of ball.
I believe this is what you are seeing slap. I'd say go with a conventional lefty drill with pin over middle finger and cg kicked out. It would be alot more of what you are looking for.

Hey Long Roller, did you alter the cover? It doesn't look too shiny.
-
StrikeMonster, I have 3 in the shop, NIB and they are not as shinny as a Doom, I was a bit surprised as well. Still all in all a good looking ball, IMO.

Thanks, AZGuy. I've been salivating over this ball since it came out, but I don't need another shiny ball. So, I think I'll put the Toxic on my Christmas list.
thanks.

I think it is a sweet looking ball too. . .
My friend said it looks like a highly polished booger going down the lane.
