Hi All,
Bowling at a house this year in a 4 man late league that follows a 5 man league. The house has a reputation of having very stripped backends and dryer outsides on a fresh shot. Just imagine how dry they are in the second league. I couldn't use anything aggressive. Outside 12 is usually toasted as well as the heads and midlane. Moving very deep inside was the only line I could get the ball to the pocket but the ball would tend to deflect when hitting the pocket due to the angle and some oil carrydown inside.
On advice of Tom Jordan, my ball driller, I got the Razyr. Using some more speed I am able to move right, into the desert and play up 10 to 6. In the last four times I've bowled on the crap leftover shot I had a 636, 641, 664, and 670 (in that order). This is considering I shot 541 & 589 the first two weeks.
This week was 223, 234, 213 for a 670 series with nine 10 pins.
Two things with the Razyr. First, I have to keep my hand through the ball or it hits flat. Second, if I get too tight with the line it leaves ringing 10 pins. But I'd rather leave nine 10 pins and shoot 670 then leave four big splits using a more aggressive ball. At least I can make 10 pins consistently.
